THE WRIGHT WAY FOR LIGHTING INSTALLATION

ELITE, CODE-COMPLIANT CRAFTSMANSHIP

Elevate your property's value and visual appeal with custom interior lighting, beautiful recessed LED layouts, smart dimming controls, and outdoor security or landscape systems.

Residential lighting has evolved far beyond standard overhead fixtures and lamps. Modern home lighting is a strategic design system split into ambient, task, and accent layers. Properly executed lighting installation completely transforms the aesthetic character and perceived volume of your living spaces while improving daily utility. We specialize in designing and wiring custom recessed LED layouts, integrating smart dimming switches that link to your home automation apps, mounting high-ceiling chandeliers, and constructing beautiful outdoor security or low-voltage landscape lighting architectures. Every system we build uses commercial-grade components and focus on reducing energy consumption while maintaining maximum safety and performance.

Why Choose Mister Wright for Lighting Installations?

Dust-Controlled Clean Installation:

Cutting ceiling drywall creates massive amounts of fine white dust. We utilize professional ceiling hole saws fitted with vacuum-shield domes to capture 99% of dust at the point of cutting, protecting your furniture and HVAC system.

IC-Rated Safety Fixtures Only:

Standard recessed lights get extremely hot. If they contact attic fiberglass insulation, they pose a severe fire threat. We install only IC (Insulation Contact) rated, airtight LED canister-less fixtures that run cool to the touch and seal attic draft holes.

Smart System Dimmer Integrations:

We are experienced in wiring smart lighting dimmers (like Lutron CasΓ©ta) and programming them to interface seamlessly with your Alexa, Apple Home, or Google Assistant setups for remote control and custom schedules.

Balanced Optical Layouts:

We don't just put lights in random grids. We calculate room dimensions, beam angles, and task heights to spacing your fixtures perfectly, preventing annoying glare lines, dark corners, or shadow overlays.

HOW WE WORK

THE 4-STEP WRIGHT PROCESS

We remove the guesswork and stress from home electrical work. Here is how we ensure perfect, code-compliant safety.

01

Fixture & Beam Spread Plan

We map out fixture spacing, choose CCT color temperatures, calculate beam overlap angles, and evaluate panel circuit headroom.

Mister Wright Electric Quality
02

Shielded Ceiling Cutting

We use specialized vacuum-dome hole saws to cut precise mounting openings in your drywall without releasing dust into your home.

Mister Wright Electric Quality
03

Insulated Wire & Box Mount

We pull high-grade Romex copper lines from the switch box, mount code-mandated electrical junction boxes, and secure the fixtures airtight.

Mister Wright Electric Quality
04

Smart Switch & Dimmer Calibrate

We wire Lutron or smart digital dimmers, verify compatibilities to prevent flickering, and program custom lighting zones for home automation systems.

The Engineering Behind Color Temperatures, Beam Spreads, & Driver Dimming

Why Code-Compliance Matters

Placing non-IC (Insulation Contact) rated recessed canisters directly against attic insulation is a major fire hazard. We install ultra-safe, IC-rated LED fixtures designed to operate coolly. Every installation we perform is led by Master Electrician Saul Rios, ensuring it is fully insured, bonded, and backed by a comprehensive safety audit that complies 100% with the latest National Electrical Code guidelines.

Designing a high-end lighting system requires balancing optics and electronics. We calculate beam spread angles (typically 38-degree spots to 60-degree floods) based on ceiling height to ensure light cones overlap at 30 inches above the floor (standard table height) for even coverage. We also help you select the right Correlated Color Temperature (CCT), balancing cozy warm white (2700K-3000K) for living rooms with task-oriented neutral white (4000K) for kitchens. On the electrical side, pairing LEDs with dimmers requires matching the driver's technology. Using standard dimmers on LED drivers causes annoying buzzing and flickering. We install specialized electronic low-voltage (ELV) reverse-phase dimmers that match the exact sine-wave cutting method required by LED drivers, ensuring smooth, silent dimming down to 1% power.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

FAQ Specific to Lighting Installation

What is the difference between warm white and cool white LEDs?

Color temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). Warm white (2700K-3000K) replicates the yellow, cozy glow of traditional incandescent bulbs, making it ideal for bedrooms and living rooms. Cool white or daylight (4000K-5000K) has a crisp, blue-white tone that increases contrast and alertness, which is perfect for office workspaces, garages, and kitchen task areas.

Why do my new LED lights buzz or flicker when I dim them?

This is usually caused by an electronic mismatch. LEDs require direct current (DC) and use an internal driver to convert household alternating current (AC). Standard older dimmers cut the AC wave in a way that confuses the LED driver, causing physical buzzing or flickering. Installing a digital LED-compatible dimmer or an Electronic Low-Voltage (ELV) reverse-phase dimmer fixes this instantly.

What is an IC-rated light fixture, and why is it important?

IC stands for 'Insulation Contact'. An IC-rated recessed fixture is engineered with double-walled housing or cool-running LEDs that allow attic insulation to wrap directly around the fixture without starting a fire. Non-IC fixtures require a 3-inch gap of empty space around them, which allows massive amounts of air to draft from your home into the attic, driving up your heating and cooling bills.

How do you calculate landscape lighting voltage drop?

Low-voltage landscape lighting runs on 12V or 15V. Because the voltage is so low, electrical resistance causes the voltage to drop over long cable runs, making the furthest lights dim. We calculate this by multiplying the total wattage of the fixtures by the length of the run and dividing by the wire gauge rating. We then adjust the multi-tap transformer taps (using 13V, 14V, or 15V taps) to deliver a perfect 12V to every single fixture.

Can you add recessed lights without tearing down my ceiling drywall?

Yes. By using modern 'wafer' LED lights, we only need to cut small, round holes where the lights will go. We then use flexible fiberglass fishing rods to run wires behind the walls and ceiling joists from hole to hole without opening up major sections of drywall, saving you thousands in repair and paint costs.
